This body of work concentrates on societal pressures popular culture puts on women on a day-to-day basis. I highlight these so-called anxieties by poking fun at social norms.  Reinterpreting the everyday struggle through art jewelry, is helping to form a connection with the viewer. Thirsting to generate a jarring effect by subverting items from daily life, I attempt to mock them by placing them into a new context.

 

By using non-traditional lowbrow materials like plastic and polyurethane foam, a new connection is made between the everyday objects we desire, use daily and acquire throughout our years.
